P.K. Snowbird Ltd. was established in 1996 to import Finnish and other Scandinavian design glassware, household, catering and interior design products to Thailand.

The major focus was first with Iittala, Hackman and Arabia, a family of Finnish brandname products known the world over for excellence in design (all now under one ‘Iittala’ brand name). The combined product range was including e.g. always popular, hand-blown ‘Birds by Toikka’, Aalto vases, Gaissa and Ultima Thule whisky glasses and Aurora stemware.

With the high demand from the Bangkok’s expatriate community, Snowbird started to import design paper napkins (which were not available in Thai market in mid 90’s) and candles, which were sold through Villa Supermarket chain. Villa Supermarkets (9 in Bangkok, Pattaya and Hua Hin) are still Snowbird’s major retail customers, as well as Tantrapan (Chiang Mai) and Friendship (Pattaya). In addition our X’mas retail collection is well represented in Emporium, Siam Paragon and selected Tops Marketplace supermarkets.

Around year 2000 Snowbird started marketing of DUNI’s disposable table-top products for professional users (hotels, resorts, restaurants). Especially the New Year and Xmas design collections have remained very popular within the professional users, as well as retail customers.

Finnish Akvila’s unbreakable polycarbonate glassware was introduced to Thai market in 2006, due to high demand among the professional users, like outside catering, garden and swimming pool use.

During the recent years Snowbird has also started to market local Thai plastic and paper products for mainly professional users. Snowbird will service and source the best possible suppliers for each professional customer, including customers from beverage industries, catering, hotels, fast-food chains etc.

In early 2009 Snowbird expanded its operations with new technology division. Tramigo, the world’s leading GPS/GMS tracking system from Finland was introduced. These GPS systems have been sold to over 120 countries. These systems are used by individuals for personal protection, and by companies with fleet of cars or other vehicles, like security companies, banks, transportation companies, hotels, boat service etc. Tramigo users can check the location of their vehicle with simple mobile phone text messages, or using free internet map services.
